"Karen's work is diverse and dynamic - unique, accessible public art works which celebrate a sense of place, history and fun through to exquisite, hand-built sculptural vessels and pieces which celebrate and examine form and fluidity"
Gordon Scott, Director of Prema

Artist's statement

My interest lies in form and connecting with what lies beneath.

I explore the exterior refined physical characteristics and reflect the essence of what makes this intriguing and unique.

The work strives to achieve a depth of connection with the viewer through a seduction of what initially feels familiar but grows, on interaction, to something both new and familiar.

I value simplicity of form, line and contours.

There is a desire to touch and explore the work, as the harmony of materials and form invites this.

I reference that which is familiar to me, both physically and personally.

There is a strong emphasis on humanity, and that which connects us with our surroundings.
